now everything is centered...I just want it to align properly (i can remove some of the padding which is okay...my problem is the backgrounds now ( i want it to be transparent) if you could view the source and help me out by editing the code that would be great

Well Im not sure what part of the code needs editing...it has something to do with the nav html codes that are in there...i just need them fixed up so there is no background and its pretty much just hyperlinks....

The red needs to be "transparent". The buttons will still be white when you hover over them, however.
#navbar ul { list-style-type: none; text-align: center; background-color: #000; }
If you don't want CSS buttons, then you should just remove the unordered list (<div id="navbar"><ul> <li> ...) and just use plain hyperlinks.

If I remove the unordered list ..it doesnt center properly and then I have issues ... sorry im definitely new at this lol

Ah, well just so you know you are going to have to break up your background image in to several images and then code them all together. Just having a static background image won't work because you can't control the height of your content sections.
