Tips for not ditching your forum Over the two years I've been apart of the ProBoards community I have made three coding forums, not including this one. You may think, fail Luke, but to be honest some times you have got to keep trying but when you are creating forums weekly or even daily sometimes that might be a little over board. So I'm going to try give tips on how you can try stop doing this if this sounds like you. * Make sure your forum is the right topic, one which you're interested in otherwise you'll find it quite boring owning it. * Allow your forum to grow! I see so many people closing forums because no one joined after a day, it took a few days to get a plausible opening member count for this forum. * Even in the thick of things, carry on. This forum has had multiple downtimes, it's annoying, but it happens to most people and you've just got to keep you hopes high and make a few changes. * Advertising your forum will mean members will come which means there's not as many reasons to ditch your forum. * Don't give up when you get spammed etc, it's annoying but once people see you drive through they will see that the admin is ready for anything! * Invite friends, and enjoy your self The more fun you have, the less you will want to let go of your forum. Enjoy

Pretty good points there, I reckon 4/5 of PB forums are abandoned.
