I didnt really compare it to my laptop, I just said the new PC was better than my old laptop.
And they are! Its surprising the performance you can get from a... say $600-700 laptop. I remember the days when that couldnt even get you a Celeron..

Ahhh but what model? Celerons back in the day were absolute garbage. My old old old old PC had a 2.6ghz Celeron with 768mb of ram and if I tried to load.. Firefox or even Chrome(which was a bit better) it would be like "LOL You wanna open Chrome? Well its gonna take half an hour so you better get the tea started!" Thats even with a clean install of XP.
Not only that but since it didnt have a dedicated GPU, the Celeron had to handle graphics processing on top of that, so trying to watch a youtube video was impossible even on the lowest quality.
Bad times were had between Celeron and I, maybe one day it can redeem itself. One day.
Edit: grammar
