Newly announced from my favourite smartphone manufacturer, the HTC Edge! It's the world's first quad-core smartphone.
I have some detailed specs for you:
- 1.5GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor - Adreno 220 graphics - 1GB RAM - 4GB internal memory - Expandable memory up to 32GB microSD - 4.7" HD S-LCD capacitive display (1280x720) - 16,777,216 colours @ 312ppi - 8MP camera with 1080pHD video recording @ 30fps - HSDPA up to 21.1Mbit/s and HSUPA up to 5.76Mbit/s - 802.11 B/G/N Wi-Fi + Wi-Fi hotspot - DLNA wireless streaming - Bluetooth 4.0 - A-GPS - Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
With the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 processors, there are four cores running at 1.5GHz, and then you also get a fifth core running at around 600MHz, which the device uses if you're performing light undemanding tasks on the phone (for example, calls, texts and emailing). The device will power up all four cores and disable the fifth, when you're performing demanding tasks.
In addition to this, there are some cool new features with Android 4.0 ICS, plus I expect the Edge to ship with HTC Sense 4.0.

Only 4gb of storage? That'd barely hold 10 minutes of 1080p video if you don't have any apps Also what is the battery life like? Seems like a quad core would really drain it.

The 4GB is for the OS and UI mainly, not for the user. I hope as more information is gathered, 4GB won't be official, but something like 16GB hopefully.
And as I said before, the Tegra 3 quad-core CPUs contain a fifth core. If you're doing demanding tasks, then obviously the battery will go down quickly, but I gather that these CPUs will have some form of power-efficiency built-in. For the most part (calling, texting, emailing, Facebook, Twitter etc.), the 600MHz core will be utilized, thus the battery life will be great, minus the quite vibrant HD display. I expect the battery to have a capacity of 1750mAh, or close.
Something I forgot to mention earlier - these CPUs have produced benchmarks that are equivalent to Intel Core 2 Duos. And the Adreno 220 GPUs have been marketed as "rivalling mobile gaming console graphics".

More specifically, the Core 2 Duo T7200, so that would be a Merom.

Dayumn thats gonna be a fast phone. Intel Core 2 Duo eh? Merom is what Ive got in my moms iMac, which is still a beast after 7 years of abuse I say, Nvidia has really stepped up their game.

At times like this, I wish I worked for HTC. :L But I guess unboxing their phones is second best. ^^
