Well since you said you like good ol books. I saw a CSS Bible at my local library once.

I just used W3Schools for a lot of it. Although if your more of a hands-on learner, (and you want modern design practices) try webdesign.tutsplus.com/.

If you do have an iSomething, get an app called CSS Pro Quickguide, it's really good!

Libraries and Thrift Stores are awesome places to check out for books. CSS is pretty straight forward once you get the structure.
