lol The products wont be banned, even if Apple did steal the technology from VIA. Apple made billions last year from those devices and thats money that the economy (especially the US economy) so desperately needs. They will most likely settle on a fine that Apple will have to pay or something.

What a fucking surprise, Apple at it again.
Earlier this year, they filed complaints against HTC and Samsung for using features like the swipe-to-unlock gesture, and Apple took the companies to court. Apple then have the audacity to tell HTC and Samsung to produce their own features, and then with iOS 5, guess what? It features a heavily-Android-inspired notifications panel, and do you see Google, HTC or Samsung filing a complaint against Apple for this? No you don't.

Well did they file patents for it?

No, and that's exactly what I mean. Everything with Apple - patent, patent, patent! Google are more open. Apple just like to claim everything as their own.

Apple doesnt like competition, and they love being original. And since most competitors steal ideas from each other, the only way Apple can slow its competitors is by suing the pants off them for using "their" ideas. It is completely ridiculous, but in Apples eyes theres only room for one mass distributor of mobile/desktop devices. And they very much plan on being that one.
Plus look at what happened the last time Apple let ideas get stolen. Microsoft became a corporate giant and turned a thriving company to NExT to nothing! (hah) Apple probably doesnt want something like that happening again.

They plan on being that one by offering only a handful of devices? Not much to choose from at all. And I actually hope it does happen.

Knowing someone would build on them and make them better? I'd rather work with an open-source company, such as Google, I mean you can't complain about Google Android's popularity.

Ideas were meant to be stolen there's only so many people in the world that's bound to have the same idea as you it's up to the creator to improve on it thus the reason for so many new features being released by companies.

Hehehe exactly. Karma bit Apple in the ass for sure, and best of all, they couldnt complain. They stole the idea from Xerox, why cant Microsoft steal the idea from Apple?
And yeah I agree with Dylan, I would much rather work for an open source company like Google.

It amuses me how Apple think they can use Samsung's processors in their iPhones, and then have the audacity to file a lawsuit against them for using technologies that Apple claim to have originally made (these days, what don't they claim!?) Personally, if I was Samsung, I'd prohibit Apple from using them.

Samsung would lose too much money. With the way that iPods/iPhones/iPads are selling, it would be foolish to stop supplying Apple with the A5's. Also Apple has apparently been talking about jumping ship from Samsung to TSMC for the A5's. That could easily put a dent in Samsungs income for sure.

I knew someone would mention money. Okay, so stopping them completely is just foolish to their company, but at least doing something would make them not so stupid.
