So the new AMD cpus finally came out today after being rumored about for about 4 years now!
They are offering cpus that have 4, 6, or 8 cores. They have a 32nm manufacturing tech, which is the same as AMD's APUs they released earlier this year. They also instead of 'cores', have 'modules', which apparently have 2 cores in each module. They have 8mb of l3 cache, and l2 cache is in correspondence with the amount of cores. The 8 core has 8mb of l2 cache, where the 6 core has 6mb. I find it weird that the 8 core has the same amount of L3 cache as L2 cache. Each level is supposed to be faster, meaning higher speeds, though the faster they are typically means less cache.
A lot of people are pretty disappointed though. They aren't pumping out as much performance as AMD promoted. As far as straight up benchmarks, their highest competitor (FX8150, an 8 core @ 3.6ghz) performs between Intel's i5-2500k and i7-2600k. However, in games people are preferring the slightly cheaper Intel i5 since games typically run better on faster cores, which is where the i5 takes the advantage over the Bulldozer cpus.
Are any of you thinking of buying one of the new Bulldozer Processors?

Nahhhh. I am more of an Intel guy myself. Although my dads computer has the original Phenom Quad Core, which still performs quite well (its 4 years old), I prefer the intel!
