Does anybody follow any of the teams? It is the only sport I follow The Eagles are my favorite team, the Seahawks are my home team (unfortunately ) But since the Eagles got off to a bad start, I'm going for the Packers this year to win their second Super Bowl. Tom Brady also seems to be at the top of his game, so I wouldn't doubt seeing him in this year's Super Bowl either.

It looks stupid and wimpy. Rugby doesn't need little helmets etc and that's full on If you grow up in New Zealand, you are going to watch the sports that are played in that country such as Rugby. If you grow up in Mexico, you are going to watch soccer, if you grow up in America, you are going to watch football. The sport that you grow up with is the one that you will most likely enjoy and understand. You say football is stupid, but I doubt you have ever watched a full game just like I have never watched an entire rugby game. From the videos I have seen, football is significantly different than Rugby, especially when it comes to complex strategy which is what I care about most. Football players don't all have the same body build as in rugby, you have big guys and small guys and they are trained for a specific position which requires a lot of skill so just being fast and muscular isn't good enough. I'm not saying Rugby doesn't require skill, I'm just saying from what I have seen most of the players seem to do the same thing since they all have the same body build (they are all huge). The padding in football is needed because football is an explosive game, rather than a game based on stamina and tackling is different. Lots of players are injured in football even with the pads, and it has nothing to do with them being soft. Here's a better explanation below. In Rugby, there is lack of hard protective equipments such as helmet and padding. That’s why in case of Rugby players are also taught to tackle with personal safety in mind. In football, hard tackles are allowed which is why there is padding. The fundamentals of the 2 games are totally different. Rugby players are more versatile, but american footballers are much more specialized and can train to master the different demands of their individual positions. Rugby places a greater emphasis on stamina, while american football's stop and starting and substitutions make the game more explosive (How many rugby players have won olympic sprinting gold medals?). Rugby has strategy, but the stop start nature of american football and the element of the forward pass take strategy to a whole other level. Try reading an AFCA coaching manual if don't believe it - and them imagine having to learn a 400 page playbook with up to 1,000 plays.Yes, I know, this is a big post, but you insulted one of my favorite sports. I just wanted to end on saying that neither sport is better, it's all about personal preference.

I grew up around Football in England actually I have watched a match of AF but it just doesn't seem as exciting (probably because I don't know what's going on). Some rugby players have actually raced a car in a race, one where you start, stop turn around and go and I'm pretty sure the rugby player won, also some of them are very very fast Imagine getting lifted up and dropped on your head in Rugby union. THAT WOULD HURT LIKE HE'LL. that happened yesterday in one of the matches. In AF you would have a helmet on, you wouldn't break your neck as easily. I know now the whole of America will be after me but of course we will say what we're saying, we're from those counties or live in them.

If you don't understand the game, you aren't going to enjoy it unless it's something as simple as cage fighting which is what I would watch if I were interested in something rough. I don't watch football because I think it's extremely rough, I watch it because I enjoy all the complexities of the game come together in a match up. Rugby is probably rougher than football, but that doesn't make it a better game. There are many times when I prefer to watch basketball, and it's not nearly as rough as the other two sports but it's still fun to watch.
