I'm testing it as an alternative for a database at the moment has it plus points like mysql but javascript can grab from it as well useful If you have sensitive data then you'd still need to keep it in a mysql but for non-sensitive data it's fine.

I worked with it some during my internship. It's used a ton with applications that need to communicate with each other.

Its not really a database, more a way of reprecenting stuff that is/was in a database. Its a view.
